Everything is private!
Jun 24th
That’s right, everything of much importance is now set to private — well, most things anyway. At some point I’ll figure out how to get this bitch of a website to display a user registration form, but until then you’re out of luck on reading anything of much interest.
New kick-ass header
Jan 17th
Spent the last few hours figuring out how to use
gimp to make a nice new header image. Took a while and some searching for different brushes online to make it just right, but, as you can see, I did a pretty good job on it — at least I think so.
Phone Security
Jan 17th
Was just reading an interesting article about cellphone security over at ars technica. A quick summary of the article is that now, with some new rulings, if you’re stopped and the police snag your phone, they can rifle through the bitch without any warrant. So best password that phone before your next run in with the police.
Teaching log, Day 1.
Aug 25th
Today was the first day teaching. Suppose it went well; although, apparently they wanted to know about me — who I was other than just a teacher with a name. Who knew? I gave them the tone of indifference and required them to read the syllabus until I was content that most of them had read the deal. Then I handed them their labs, while making them sign in for the day. It seems my task was complete as they assumed that I was a professor on this day.
Camp McCumber 2010!
Jul 2nd
Had considered going earlier in the semester, but forgot to register until probably the last minute; however, that didn’t matter because they were short on counselors this year. We had 63 kids this year out of 65 that registered for the diabetic education camp. Took my friends Sarah and Skyler with me this year, who had also signed up to be camp counselors. I was in the 9 and 10 cabins this year, — much like last time I was a counselor -, which were the 11-12 year old boys cabin. The was a week long, and consisted of daily planned events which the campers could take part in; arts, crafts, games, campfire, etc. My kids were hellion bastards, and that’s why they were the most fun — right before they’re teens and they don’t care about what you have to say. We tried the snipe hunt for them, but it turned out they were just a little too old for that, but we still freaked out one or two of them. Next time we’ll scare the younger kids, and possibly enlist the older kids to help us out in making the snipe hunt more fun.
