Make haste slowly

Just woke up… *Yawn*

The festivities of last night were decent enough for me. Haven’t done the whole going out the first week after school starts but it worked out. Went out with a group I don’t usually go with but it was fine. Had forgotten that during the semester that a ‘line’ exists at la salles — how this happened, I’m not sure. Either way I’m quite certain that is the reason I haven’t been there in over year without taking someone there on a date of some kind. The rest of them turned out to be pretty much what I remembered the being; which isn’t really saying much. For the most part the people in them make or break the deal for me and the frat party atmosphere doesn’t click for me. Needs to be an excellent mix of people I’d never meet at another location.

One of the better parts of any night out is running into people you didn’t expect to run into. Such as the one chick I’d met a while back. Reminded me how much I miss going out and socializing with new people and old ones; occasionally picking one up. Still knowing that the kind of woman I need to be looking for probably isn’t hanging out in a bar. First day of classes I met a nice one in my Aikido class. She was fairly nice and good looking. The whole foreign exchange student was a nice plus as well. Somehow it just worked out that we ended up riding bikes along the avenues on our way home talking for a while. In this way I think whoever I end up being with next will just present herself.

Have no idea where this came from but, If someone’s really interested in you, they’ll put themself in your path. True? Maybe to a certain degree but if some woman actually went out of their way to be in my way it would be nice. Maybe It’s already happend and not realizing it is the problem. Putting yourself out there to be picked up or put down; every one needs to say that they’ve tried or there’s nothing that can be done.

Ultimately I’m still happier now than I’ve been in a long time. Summer was fun and now life is back on track. Change my major completely to Environmental Science which means more interesting work and different and hopefully more interesting people than Civil Engineering had to offer. Sure there are a few annoying classes I’ve had to sign up for but they’re pale in comparison to the alternative.

I’m reminded of a song; been a while since I posted a long.

Phone #’s M.I.A.

Filed under: uncategorized — dbcalo @ 7:10 pm

Guess it happens every once and a while. Lost all my numbers again; send it to me again if you wanted me to have it. Phone was acting a little finicky but I didn’t think much of it. Either way my number is still the same.

What I’m looking for

I’m pretty sure I’ve finally decided what I’m looking for in the woman of my dreams. Screw all of this is she blonde? brunette? redhead? big tits? nice ass? white? black? asian? etc. I’ve decided that even if she hits my match in any of those but hates the music I listen to, then I should drop her like a bad habbit. Now It’s quite clear that was the ultimate problem with the last one. I couldn’t possibly be myself around her. It was horrible. Every day I led on like everything what alright. It was only when she voiced her concerns about us that I decided it was a sinking ship and wouldn’t put any more effort forward on her, packed up and left. Living with a woman who decreas, “blah blah blah. you can only like the things that i like and nothing else!” is suicided plane and simple.

The Trip

Could be the last year I get to go back to higley flow. The dammed up section on the Racquet river that my grand parents own a lake house on. They’re getting up there in the years and it was readily apparent that my grand father needed a hip replacement, but refused it because he’s into eastern remedies. Other than that the week went quite pleasantly; beside the fact that I thought the TSA stole some stuff and my phone up and died due to the humidity (so my number might change as such).

The week started out with the whole family there. Got to see my cousins again. It had been an few years but we still couldn’t get them to do much in the way of water sports. Nicole wouldn’t go near the water and micheal was scared to try anything else other than two skiis. I had to have been outside non-stop this week as I now have a real tan. There were a couple new toys there this year including all the others. The first was the wake skate which was rather like a wake board without bindings — which made for fewer face plants. The second was the wake surfer which you’re intended to drop the line and surf the wake; although, we never could get that to work out. Next was the boom which isn’t really a toy in itself; it just makes learning barefoot skiing easier. Then there were the usuals: the wake board, skiis, and of course the might air chair.

From the whole week I think the barefoot skiing was the hardest to do. Never did quite get it done but the guy teaching us made it look easy. He did dock starts, water starts and everything you could think of that had to do with barefooting. In the end it was a well worth while trip. Here’s hoping that the lake house stays in the family even if it is three thousand mile away.

edit: scratch that bit about the phone. it magically revived itself.
