Make haste slowly

Upon waking up today I noticed that the light coming through the window looke an awful lot like the amount of light that might shine through on a rainy day. The problem being it’s the middle of summer and that’s not going to happen here. As I rolled up the curtain I was struck by how yellow the day seemed; looking up noticing the thick overcast sky. Not clouds but thick smoke. Ash was raining down from the sky in little white chunks of matter. It’s been like this since at least 7am with no sign of letting up anytime soon. I’ve been told that paradise has been evacuated again. Houses have already been lost.
