Riding in the park.

I’ve been riding the park a bit lately. Picked up the habit last summer trying to get into shape. I somewhat stayed in shape through the winter and It’s been much easier to get back into riding this year. Started by going a couple weeks on some 10 mile rides but yesterday and today I decided to up the ante. Yesterday i made it to Salmon Hole — which is approx. 10mi to the place; totaling out ~20mi — and today I made it to Brown’s Hole — which is approx. 15mi to the place; totaling out at ~30mi. Could have kept going but after an hour and a half back to the place I was probably nearing the limit to getting a sun burn currently. Next weekend I’ll have to see if i can make it back as far as the fence where the park supposedly ends.

edit: seems i was out a bit too long and sun burned my entire back.

Chronic socialization.

I really don’t know if there is such a problem but if it were something I guess I would have it. Today I should really be doing homework but I have the overwhelming urge to go out in search of a new girlfriend. I really shouldn’t care but this whole being alone thing sucks. Anyway, I’ve been listening to these songs to get over my failures with women.

These are all songs from John Fruciante’s Shadows Collide With People. Number 3 is probably my favorite.

Hate

Sometimes it takes a while to realized if you do but today I’m not so sure. Hate.

This is the perfect song to go along with it:

That song characterized my whole week and weekend as I’ll probably experience it.

Yet this song is how I’ll feel tomorrow:

But in the after noon (after my ride) I’ll go with this song:

I was sitting in class when it sudden came to me that I should have to deal with people who don’t want to deal with me. As such, I wont! These people only want me to deal with their shit. They never want to deal with my shit. So deal with your own shit if you can’t deal with mine.

Thats better.

The bars…

I think tonight is the last night I’m going to go out for a while. I’ve just come to the conclusion that I go out to the bars too often and it’s killing me slowly. Might even ditch out early tonight if the right crowd isn’t out tonight. It just doesn’t excite me like it used to. There was a time when I could go out any weekend and it would be a magical experience. Lately its just been the same and I think I could end up having more fun not going out to the bars. I like the people but I think I would enjoy them more in different settings and places just to change things up.

edit (next day):

Ya, I now officially find the bars pretty boring. Ended up being a night like most other bar nights: Random BS and good friends. I suppose thats how it usually goes though in that this town is tiny and everyone knows everyone — or at least knows someone that knows everyone. For now I’ll just leave it at that.

Phone’s doing funky things.

It’s official…

I listen to either not enough or too much music. Not sure if there can be too much music listening but sometime in the next couple of days, I will have listened to around 62,000 tracks according to last.fm — only including tracks played through this computer; which probably makes the number somewhat low. Just noticed it today and found it interesting most likely because I’m bored.

Click here to see what I’m talking about.

It probably means that I just have too much free time which is most likely the case. Not that I mind having an extra-ordinary amount of free time — I kind of enjoy it. Still I think its time I started either doing more homework or found a job. Still haven’t been able to think of some line of work that would go well with school. Being a draftsman did not go well as it ended up that I had to put work before school. That whole if the project goes wrong it ends up being my fault deal … just didn’t do it for me. It especially didn’t work when no one was willing to admit that a part time employee shouldn’t be making final decisions. Not that I actually botched any projects where it was legitimately my fault.

The hospital is out of the question as I “resigned” from that place long ago and don’t want to put up with their bullshit ever again. Sure its a job but it’s one where you’re less than a human being. In the long run if I have to clean up someone’s shit it better be my own and not have to convince myself that I’m doing a public service — or that I really need the money. Beside that, they probably have me down on a list with plenty of other people who are union supporters (which is why I had to “resign”) who they won’t hire again. Joining up with the union to score some points with a chick I was interested in probably wasn’t the best of ideas but hell it seemed like a great idea at the time. Sure joining up was the last straw for me there but at least its a good story.

What I need is something where I do little to nothing, can hide claiming I was doing something important (thanks for that idea mike), and can lastly do all my homework getting paid as though I were doing my homework for that company. What an excellent place that would be. Places like this most likely don’t exist but it’s worth a shot if I do say so — and I do! I’m thinking mom and pop hardware store like Colliers might be a place like this. You don’t have to know what anything in the store does or help people. The perfect job for me. Still I really want to go through a string of jobs where I quit angrily and memorably — hopefully with video taped evidence of each event. I think everyone should get to do that once.

Think that’s all I have to say for tonight.
