Polictical rant #1

I was sitting around last night watching the news and reading some articles on line. As I was doing so I came across some that talked of impeachment trials. I’ve read these before and you usually go to the tune of congressman Wexler or Kucinich would like to hold hearings on the issue. I honestly believe that the current president and vice president should, and must, be impeached before they start another war — among other such things as war crimes, wire tapping, secret prisons, suspension of habeas corpus, leaking of CIA operatives names (treason), destruction of evidence (obstruction), etc.

Most people would look at that list — that just keeps growing — and know that somethings going on that needs to halted. What I was thinking about last night was the fact that the congress that we elected that happened to be just slightly more democratic that the previous and that nothing had really changed. The democrats had seemingly aligned themselves with the president for better or for worse (like a marriage). Nancy Pelosi and the senior democratic brass had taken impeachment “off the table” from the first day they were put into power.

This complete turn of events really makes no sense if you view it in a traditional terms that there are two parties vying to out do one another. My new view of this is that its more like the WWF in that they both act like they dislike each other. They introduce two marginally different bills and begin arguing over semantics of what is really the same bill to attempt to pull the wool over our eyes that one bill is really different that the other. An example of this would be what the republicans called “Hillary care” which wanted to force employers to use HMO’s with regulation. What was the republican answer? HMO’s with less regulation. This is also why I do not trust Hillary one bit given that her last attempt at “national health care” was a sham to support HMO’s.

So where am I going with all of this? What I want you to do is imagine that you were in power to remove a top official from office but in doing so there would be a significant chance that you could be implicated with fervor of such at trial. What would you do? Its not too hard to figure out as you would with out a doubt cover your ass and take impeachment of that official off the table so that you wouldn’t go down as well. That’s just the way I see it in a league of liars willing to do whatever is convenient to save their ass for the next election cycle. So next time you see them on the television talking up why the President Bush shouldn’t be impeached as if it were ridiculous to hold an elected official accountable for their actions, look at that person with a little more scrutiny that you used to. After all it is just the WWF with out people doing body slams; except in this version “we the people” die when they make mistakes. When is it going to be enough?

Oh and if you don’t believe me about all of this go do some research and quit being a lazy bastard America!
